Seattle Commuter Operations Team Reaches 2,000 Days Injury-Free

2006-03-15

On March 3, BNSF's Seattle Commuter Operations Team reached 2,000 days without an injury. The team is made up of 32 employees – 16 conductors and 16 engineers – who operate the service of four daily trains, Monday-Friday, from Tacoma to Seattle, Wash. Each train may hold up to 500 passengers.

The Operations team also provides additional commuter train services for special events, including popular Seahawks and Mariners games during selected weekends.

Experienced crew members Engineer John Cox and Conductor Ken Sears both say, "Safety is our top priority and it's rewarding to be a part of this success."

"The employees in this service demonstrate tremendous ownership and professionalism at all times, which led to this achievement," says Joe Albinger, manager, Commuter Operations, Seattle.
