Fifth Annual Santa Steam Special Attended by More Than 1,600 Vancouver-Area Residents

BNSF volunteers operated a special Santa Steam Special on Dec. 13 as the SP&S 700 steam locomotive pulled decorated vintage passenger cars – and Santa --  into

Vancouver’s yard office/depot complex. Hundreds of excited children greeted the train, ready to see the jolly red-suited man.

Santa gave each child a stocking filled with gifts and treats. Other attractions included a new BNSF diesel locomotive, a BNSF K9 unit, the Washington State Operation Lifesaver trailer, Christmas music and seasonal snacks. BNSF also co-sponsored a toy drive with the U.S. Marine Corps.
